Assignment details: 101595 This assignment will begin in Module 3. Individual assignment - You are to design and write your campaign plan for Assignment 3A and report/reflection for Assignment 3B. Step 1: Community/Social Action: 101595 Your will join a planned community or social action.?You are free to choose any type of community or social action. It can be taking part in a protest with a social action group, a letter writing campaign, volunteering with a community organisation or creating your own campaign on an issue that concerns you.   Remember: This unit asks you to engage with both the theory and practice of social activism. To do well in this assignment, you will have to be prepared to get involved in a campaign at a level that allows for critical reflection and rich evaluation.  Ensure that you select your community and social action with the following points in mind:?  Be creative: The purpose of the assignment is for you to experience community and social action first hand, to learn from that experience and to relate the inspiration as well as the challenges you encounter with the unit learning materials.  Plan ahead: Whichever course you take, planning is essential to organise and achieve action goals and complete activities.  Be safe: If you choose to create your own campaign, you are encouraged to plan for this to take place on campus where you have access to resources and the support of staff and peers.  Examples of social activism: 101595 Volunteer for an organisation like Greenpeace or Clean Up the World. Take part in a letter writing campaign for Amnesty, Human Rights Watch. Create your own community or social action. Step 2: Campaign plan: 101595 Your campaign plan will be a description of the type of community or social action you and your team will participate in. It needs to include: information about the organisation or social action group conducting the campaign, or, if you decide to do your own action, how you plan to create the campaign rationale for your choice of action, including why your team chose this campaign and how research supports this choice. You will need to include theory to support your choice and an explanation of why this community or social action is a concern to your team.
