Psychology Assignment:

Question 1: Both Schizophrenia and Eating disorders involve some sense of distorted reality. How might distorted perceptions of reality influence interactions with an individual who might present for some other  (non- directly psychological) health concerns? Your response should reflect on how the presence of distorted perceptions might influence interactions with an individual. For example, imagine you are a podiatrist and a new individual comes to see you for a podiatry related concern. How might the presence of distorted perceptions of reality within this individual (e.g. if they are diagnosed with schizophrenia) influence your interactions with them?  Another way of thinking about this is why might be distorted perceptions of reality make interacting with some individuals difficulty?   Question 2: What do you think is the biggest misconception about mental health? Reflecting on what you have learned this semester, do you think it is important for all health practitioners to have training in mental health? (It is ok to say no! As long as you give a reason why)
