Students will be required to participate in a role-play during class and provide a written reflection. The role plays will expose students to realistic work-based situations in which they may find themselves in the future. In particular, students will get to practice liaising with different clients, dealing with problematic situations, working within an audit team and reporting to the board committee or audit committee. This task will contribute towards the development and evaluating professional or enterprise practice in relation to culture and diversity and effective verbal and written communication skills in audit discipline. 

Details 

Students will participate in a role play during class in week 10 and you will be advised of the topic and general nature of the role play so you are able to prepare. The written reflection must be submitted within 72 hours of completing the role play. 

(i) Roleplay - the approximate duration for each role play will be 5-7 minutes. Students will be assessed with regard to relevance of content used and in reference to evaluating professional or enterprise practice in relation to culture and diversity and effective verbal and written communication skills in audit discipline according to to the marking criteria below. 

(ii) Written reflection - The written reflection should be approximately 800-1000 words. students are asked to reflect on the following: - Whether the role play went well or not. In other words, did participants achieve what needed to be achieved? 

Why or why not? 

- What was the impact on cultural diversity in the given situation and how you addressed the resolved the issue. 

- What were strengths and weakness (Give examples for both) 

- Next time, what would you do differently  

- What has participating in this role play taught you about the role of an auditor 

- Make recommendations and make reference to relevant standards and policy guidelines. 

The written reflection is required to be submitted online via vUWS using the Turnitin submission link within 72 hours of completing the role play. No hard copy is required. students will be assessed according to the marking criteria below.
