The presentation should provide a theory- and evidence-based discussion of why the issue is of importance, antecedents of the issue, and specific strategies for addressing the selected issue. This assessment aligns with the overall purpose of organisational behaviour: to understand, predict, and influence behaviour in organisations.

Description

You will need to select one of the organisational issues outlined in the attached document as the basis for your presentation. Once you have chosen your organisational issue, you will need to research the issue and develop a presentation that addresses each of the four key points included below each organisational issue. Although the wording of the four key points varies for each organisational issue, they broadly follow the same structure:

• Introduce yourself, your organisational issue, and set the agenda for your presentation

• Define the organisational issue and provide an evidence-based rationale for why it is important

• Draw on theory and research to discuss the antecedents (causes) of the organisational issue

• Provide theory-driven, evidence-based, specific strategies for dealing with organisational issue

A large proportion of the marks for this assessment item are allocated to the content. As the content in the presentation is expected to be theory-driven and evidence-based, we recommend that you choose one theoretical model as the foundation for your presentation. To help you select an appropriate theory, we have included a list of potential theories beneath each of the organisational issues. In addition to the prescribed textbook, you are expected to draw on a minimum of 8 peer-reviewed academic research articles (predominantly published in the past ten years, although older, pertinent references can be included) to support the presentation analysis. These sources are expected to be cited in the presentation materials, both in-text and by including a correctly formatted reference list (APA 7) at the end of the presentation. All content included in the presentation must be based on your own independent research, with sources for your information appropriately acknowledged.
