Description

You are a human services practitioner working in a non-government organisation. In addition to direct service delivery, the organisation supports social justice through advocacy about welfare policy in seven priority areas: aging; disability; families and children; housing; health and education; Indigenous Australians; and welfare in low- and middle-income countries. Over the next 12 months, the organisation plans to hold a series of webinars that recommend changes in each of these priority areas. These webinars will be targeted primarily at policy makers. You have been asked to present one webinar.

Choose one policy area covered in weeks 5 to 11. Record a presentation (maximum 15 minutes) that puts forward and supports one or more specific, feasible recommendations about welfare policy in your chosen area. This may include (but is not limited to) changes to the extent of support provided, conditionality, or eligibility for social, fiscal, or occupational welfare.

• Presentations should be supported with high-quality scholarly literature.
• You must submit an audio-visual recording of your presentation along with a copy of visual aids used in the presentation.
• The presentation time limit will be enforced strictly with markers instructed to stop viewing once they reach the maximum time limit.
• Visual aids (e.g. PowerPoint slides) must include in-text citations. Your complete reference list will be included as the final slide(s) of your visual aids.
• To ensure marking is finalised before Assessment Board, the maximum extension period on this assignment is 14 calendar days.
