Assignment Task

Your Task

You are tasked with creating a customised sponsorship proposal that sells your event to an appropriately identified new sponsor. This proposal will build upon the Event Promotion Plan (A1) assessment item and the Inventory of Assets (IOA) and specifically the Sponsorship Package developed in A2.

Specifically, you are now using your Sponsorship Package (from A2) to develop a targeted Sponsorship Proposal for the sponsor you have selected.

As discussed in class, where the Sponsorship Package acts as the internal, strategic planning document underpinning your sponsorship strategy, the Sponsorship Proposal serves as the external document that will be developed for, and sent to, your new prospective sponsor.

Each student will prepare a word Sponsorship Proposal which addresses the basic elements listed below:

  1. Proposal Cover Letter

  2. Executive Summary

  3. Event Property Details

  4. Target Markets

  5. Promotional Plan for the Event

  6. Creative Leverage Ideas

  7. List of Sponsorship Benefits

  8. Budget and Investment

  9. Value of the Sponsorship

  10. Appendices ( Include the A2 Sponsorship Package only – the IOA & Cost / Value Tables are not needed)

General Points: A general summary of what is required in each section is provided at the end of this document (more specifics available on the rubric) and each of these sections will be covered in further detail in the workshops.

In preparing this assignment, students are encouraged to be creative in generating and describing ideas for how the sponsorship can be effectively leveraged. Specifically, students must come up with two creative sponsorship leverage ideas within their proposal:

1) One to be implemented either before the event or after the event; and

2) One for during the event.

A collection of real-world examples of sponsorship leverage are provided in the Modules, via Teams and within the Workshops. Students are encouraged to consider how aspects of these ideas may be adapted for their own events and proposals. Again, workshop attendance is strongly encouraged.
