Abstract
This Project is about Smart Irrigation System Using Moisture Sensor. This project is taken up as India is an agriculture-oriented country and the rate at which water resources are decreasing is a dangerous threat hence there is a need of smart and efficient way of irrigation. In this project there are sensors which detect the humidity in the soil (agricultural field) and supply water to the field which has water requirement. This project is based on 8051 microcontroller design that controls the water supply and the field to be irrigated. There are sensors that are kept in the field which are not active till water(moisture) is present in soil. If the field gets dry sensors become active based on requirement of water in field and send signal to the microcontroller. Microcontroller then supply the water as per the requirement to the specified soil(field) which require water till the sensors is deactivated. In a situation in which there is requirement of water in more than one field then the microcontroller will irrigate the field from which it received the signal first. The development of the automated irrigation system based on microcontrollers and wireless communication at experimental scale within rural areas is presented. The main aim of project is to give practical explanation of how smart irrigation system can reduce he use of water. A microcontroller for data acquisition, and transceiver; the sensor measurements are transmitted to a microcontroller-based receiver. This gateway permits the automated activation of irrigation when the threshold values of soil moisture and temperature is reached.
