Overview

In developing a VR experience, it is best practice to gather all the third-party assets required by the preproduction documents and translate the supporting preproduction documents into a functional layout.

In this case, the preproduction documents are your previously approved mood board, blocking document, and proposal.

Project 2 will demonstrate your ability to locate the necessary assets, arrange them on the Unity stage, and implement a VR player controller with all scripts needed to interact with your assets.

At this stage of development, a VR developer is more concerned with functionality than aesthetics.

Because it is a common practice to share project files between teams, you will submit Project 2 as a single, compressed archive file of all working folders. This mimics the workflow of a collaborative environment in real-world VR design.

Objective

The purpose of this project is to demonstrate your understanding of the following course concepts:

Gather necessary 3D model, image, and sound assets from recommended sources.

Translate the vision of your preproduction documents into a Unity scene using the acquired assets.

Create a VR player controller and place it within your scene.

Add grabbing functionality to the VR player controller and all grabbable items in the scene.

Locate your working folder and compress its contents for review.

Software Requirements

The following software application is required to complete this assignment:

The Assignment is based on a garden scene with grabbable plants. It should work with Windows, include continuous movement as well as teleportation.

There should be two distinct locations one should be a building with the second being the outside of the building where the garden is located.
