You are required to write a lab report on the laboratory class examining a brief strength training and motor imagery intervention in relation to forearm girth and strength.

Section 1: Introduction (25 Marks)

Introduce the area and demonstrate evidence of background reading thus justifying the reason for your investigation (cite appropriate references to back up this information). A point, evidence, explanation, link approach is as useful starting point. E.g. Point 

• Improvements in muscular strength have been demonstrated following one week of motor imagery training Evidence (Grosprêtre, et al., 2018). Explanation i.e. critically summarise what they did; are there any strengths/ weaknesses in the study design; why do they propose this response occurred; what is the underlying science; most importantly why is it relevant to your own study? This formulates your argument to support your rational. Link where possible can you compare/contrast/link to other studies. Essentially this enables you to bring information together to introduce what has been done previously and identify what still needs to be explored, providing a rational for undertaking your study as well as formulating aims and hypothesis. 

• Within this section it is important to introduce the outcome measures of interest, and explain why they are important/ relevant to the study  (this is not a limited list)

• You must use and cite correctly relevant journal articles that have measured grip strength.  Use their findings to help explain where your hypothesis comes from.

• Provide an aim and hypothesis for the investigation.

Section 2:  Method (10 Marks)

• Include details of the participants, study design and procedure.

• Must include all equipment details.

• Must consider health screening.

• Must clearly describe the data analysis undertaken including the software used.

Section 3: Results (20 Marks)

• This section must include figures (graphs) and a table, as detailed below

• All figures/tables must be labelled and formatted correctly

• Give a written description of ALL the results and variables measured (describe what the figures/table show, don’t try to explain / discuss WHY the results have occurred in this section, that will be material for the discussion) and report your statistical findings where appropriate:

• Create a figure to present the baseline forearm circumference of males and females using the group data set. Is there a significant difference between forearm circumference in males in comparison to females?
