Introduction
This unit explores the process of transition from student to professional practitioner. Students will gain an under- standing of the congruence between the provision of health care and professional regulatory frameworks. The role of the graduate nurse or midwife will be explored through a detailed examination of case studies that apply relevant theory to professional practice. This unit will build capacity in students to meet their professional responsibilities as capable practitioners in nursing or midwifery. Students will also have the opportunity to discuss career planning and set priorities for ongoing professional development.

The aim of this assessment is to enable students to prepare, practice and gain confidence for their New Graduate interviews.
Details
1. Students are required to pair with another student enrolled in the same unit, 401021 Being a Professional Nurse or Midwife, and answer 3 interview questions, while being video
2 a) For nursing students: There are two (2) sets of three (3) questions each for nursing students, Set A and Set B. You need to select one set and your partner the other set. You cannot choose the same set of questions as the student you are interviewing.
b) For midwifery Students: There are two (2) sets of three (3) questions each for midwifery students, Set A and Set B. You need to select one set and your partner the other set. You cannot choose the same set of questions as the student you are
The sets of questions will be available on vUWS under the Assessment 2 tab on the left hand side menu. Nursing students need to select the sets under the Interview Questions for Nursing students folder and midwifery students need to select the sets under the Interview Questions for Midwifery students folder.
3. As this is a simulation of your new graduate job interview you are required to dress and behave It is also important to maintain a professional demeanour during the interview. See the marking criteria.
4. To ensure that you are proficient at being interviewed, you are advised to repeat and review the video a number of times so you can see where you need to This should be done in conjunction with the marking criteria. It is also advised to discuss as well as provide and receive feedback from your partner to help you with the interview.
5. The video will be assessed This means that only the person being interviewed will be assessed. The intervieed person is responsible of their own video and submission.
