Overall task description
Design and use your own personalised drawing template.
Create part and assembly models and engineering drawings of the Warman Competition Track and payloads.
Specific Assessment Task Objectives
In addition to the general SLOs shown above, the specific objectives of this assessment task are to help you to: • become familiar with SolidWorks templates and to learn how to create your own personalised template and drawing sheet to be used whenever you create engineering drawings.
• Refresh and extend your part and assembly solid modelling skills using SolidWorks.
• Familiarise yourself with the details of the Warman competition track that will be used in the Design and Build project in this subject.
• Learn and use Configurations and/or Design Tables in SolidWorks.
Details
1. Create a template for your A3 drawings created in SolidWorks. Your sheet layout and format must be consistent with the guidelines and typical examples shown in sections 2.5.6 – 2.5.11 of AS1100.101-1992_R2014. Your title block must include your name, student ID, and a photo of you. Examples for reference will be shown in class and/or will be available from UTSOnline. Files named and submitted appropriately.
2. Create part models of the Warman competition track. Your part models should include the:
• Track base
• All deposition towers
• Debris
• Start/end zone and components
• Fasteners (use library parts or download the correct size and save locally)
3. Use Configurations and/or Design Tables to create a multi-body part model or an in-context parts and assembly model in different arrangements.
• Payload containers are modelled using configurations/design tables
• Containers without payloads
• All Payloads in A, B, C & D as appropriate
4. Create the following drawings using your personalised template and print to pdf file.
• A general assembly drawing of the Competition Track with a Bill of Parts table (include front, top and side views and an isometric view)
• Details for all subcomponents, excluding the payloads.
• Fasteners (screws, bolts, nails).
5. Create an assembly model of all parts comprising the Competition Track including the all payloads. Note: In lieu of engineering calculations for this assignment, you will be marked on your personalised drawing template.
