Aims and Summary
The aims of this module are to enable students to critically evaluate their current role in relation to the Education and Leadership pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice. Adopting a reflective and critical approach to the appraisal of these pillars will enable ongoing student development of principles, knowledge, skills and attitudes underpinning Advanced Clinical Practice. This will facilitate advancing the impact of their role and contribute to the continued development of their professional group.

Module Learning Outcomes
The intended learning outcomes are that on completion of this module the student should be able to:
1. Critically evaluate the concept of advanced clinical practice;
2. Critically analyse the key influences that have and are shaping the development of their emerging role as trainee advanced clinical practitioner;
3. Critically appraise the significance of the leadership pillar in relation to self, colleagues, patient and carers;
4. Critically appraise the significance of the education pillar in relation to self, colleagues, patient and carers;
5. Propose and justify a model of advanced clinical practice suitable to shape and underpin their emerging role.

Process
We will expect you to present your Vlog and then concisely express your vision for Advanced Practice. We suggest you take the approach, as if answering a colleague who might pose a question along the lines of, ‘Isn’t Advanced Practice a poor man’s medic?’
