Additionally, I examined publicly accessible documents, including the event program, news articles, and stakeholder briefings from the City of Gold Coast, to provide context for my findings and to comprehend the wider risk management framework within which the festival was conducted. On Saturday, May 18, 2024, I participated in the Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival as a member of the general public. My experience as an attendee allowed me to navigate the public areas, interact with food and merchandise vendors, and enjoy numerous live performances on different stages. Although my involvement was strictly observational, it enabled me to closely assess the festival's atmosphere, crowd management strategies, safety protocols, and overall operational efficiency.
