This is a two-part report, based on a chosen Occupation (requiring approval from the course convenor), consisting of:

Part 1: Labour Market Analysis;

Part 2: Job Task Analysis.

By Week 2, students are required to email the lecturer with the occupation they have chosen to study for their assessment items. The lecturer will email back confirming the appropriateness of their choice and provide a case study of a person with a disability seeking to enter this occupation for use in Part 2, and in the Occupational Case Report (Assessment 4).

Part 1: Labour Market Survey (LMS)
The Labour Market Survey Report should integrate information from the employers' interviewed and other sources such as websites and publications (see Course Content, Topic 6). The occupation summary and analysis in the report should go beyond just a summary of what you have found to provide in-depth analysis and insights into that occupation by comparing and contrasting the information you have obtained from the various sources.
Writing up the Survey - to be completed in WORD (using the format provided by the Course Convenor via the course website).
The Survey report should cover the following:
- Survey Date & Report Date;
- Occupation title;
- Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) Code found;
- Businesses/Organisations contacted (keeping in mind confidentiality if this has been requested);
- Brief description of physical and mental demands;
- Summary of experience necessary for entry to the occupation (including education required, past experience, and on-the-job training time);
- Relevant training programs and educational courses;
- Type of workplace culture that characterises the occupation;
- Level of earnings (both entry level and ceiling);
- Estimates of job availability (both current and anticipated);
- Occupation summary and analysis;
- Information sources as an Appendix including: (a) a list of references used, (b) a list of employers contacted, addresses, telephone numbers, their title and how they were contacted, and (c) a list of relevant educational and training institutions and their contact details.

Part 2: Job Task Analysis (JTA)
Students are expected to:
- Perform a job analysis on a specific job related to the occupation chosen for study in this course using the job analysis approach provided on the course site (see the Resources section of the coursesite for a printable word document to take to the worksite with you);
- Write up the job analysis using the format provided by the Course Convenor;
- Provide 1-2 pages of observations describing potential job modifications (see Topic 10) for your client (case study provided by the course convenor).
