The supplier is one of the major soybean suppliers in Brazil and sources its soybean from various local farmers. If approved by investors, the deal will allow AgroUK to secure supply of soybean which is an important ingredient in its key products.
You are required to complete a business report supported by academic research for this newly appointed Senior International Business Development Manager at AgroUK. Although the Manager has shown strong performance in her previous business development in the UK and Europe, she has little previous business development experience outside of Western Europe.
Drawing on existing cross-cultural and international management academic research and theory, critically analyse and evaluate how the Senior International Business Development Manager may address issues/challenges or dilemmas in her new international business related to the following three areas:
1. Possible cross-cultural management issues in, such as the various challenges and approaches between the company’s UK base operations and the acquired supplier in Brazil.
2. Possible challenges in the relationship between the UK owner and its external network in Brazil.
3. Based on your analyses, provide recommendations and justify the application of international business models and theories where relevant for AgroUK’s new international takeover.
