Project background and purpose.

The project was given approval to go ahead in June 2019, and construction began in September 2019 with the commencement of construction of the 200km Carmichael Railway line project to connect the Carmichael Mine to the Adani Abbot point shipping terminal via the existing QR National rail infrastructure near Moranbah.
