Overview

In this assessment, students will be required to identify an organisation and through research of the organisation and its industry, identify a problem that the organisation faces which could be solved through the use of business analytics. This assessment is worth 40% of the subject.

Requirements

The organisation you choose does not have to be one that you currently or have previously worked for (but it can) and does not have to be based in Australia. It does, however, need to be a) a small or medium-sized enterprise, and b) one in which you are able to gain enough understanding of the organisation and the industry it operates to complete what is required. For the report on your chosen organisation, please provide the following in your report:

• A brief background of the organisation (i.e. the industry it operates in, its business model)
•  A business problem that the organisation faces
• Details of how data could assist the organisation in addressing this business problem
