• For the second critique, your analysis of a policy evaluation report should be based on accepted standards for evaluations such as the Joint Committee Standards or the AEA Guiding Principles. Using either the Joint Committee Standards or the AEA Principles, you will then indicate the degree to which your policy evaluation report meets these standards or principles and provide evidence to support your judgment.
• For both critiques, you are strongly encouraged to locate reports that deal with public policies in your area of work or interest. Public policies are Government policies, and these can be at local, state or national levels of Government.
• Each "policy research/evaluation report critique" should be about three pages long, single-spaced, in 10 (Arial) or 12-point (Times) font, with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins. As noted above, the first page should be devoted to the description of the research/ evaluation, including purpose, overall design, sampling, methods of data collection used, methods of data analysis applied, major findings, and conclusions drawn. The second section should provide a critique of the article. That is, the critique must comment on the "goodness" of the planning and procedures used as well as the findings, conclusions and/or recommendations offered.
• References and citations should be given in American Psychological Association (APA) 5th or 6th edition style.
