Content: The Academic Report requires you to provide a brief introduction to your intended research. This introduction must identify the topic, the research question(s), the research objectives (or sub-questions) and provide a brief summary (no more than 100 words) of how your chosen theoretical perspective will help you achieve this. You are then required to provide 15 journal article references, presented using Harvard Referencing, that you intend on including within your research. The main body of discussion requires you to provide a critical evaluation of the three most relevant sources to your research question. 

Guidance on the assessment: 

• Whilst there is no word limit for most of the introduction, the marking will assess the clarity and concision with which you present your topic, research question and objectives. Explaining your research topic should take no more than a few sentences. See the marking table for guidance on what will be assessed. Your introduction does not require any additional in text citations or references. 

• Your 100-word explanation of the relevance of a chosen theoretical perspective does not require additional citations or references. You should explain how your theoretical perspective e.g. social marketing links to your research topic e.g. encouraging people to quit smoking 

• The references must be in the Harvard Referencing Format. 

• You are required to present 15 references from academic peer reviewed journals relevant to your described research. These may relate to models, theories and approaches that you feel may be relevant. These may also include previous research on and around your topic.
