1 General instructions to students

• An alternative assessment task in the form of take-home exam will take place instead of a face-to-face invigilated final exam for this semester.

• The ACC3AUD take-home is scheduled on Friday, 19 June 2020. 

• A designated link to the take-home exam will be made available on LMS under the “Takehome Exam” section. • The take-home exam will open on Friday, 19 June 2020 at 9 am and close at 5 pm on the same day.

• You are allocated the window time of eight (8) hours. However, whilst you may use the full eight (8) hours, you are not expected to use the entire window of time to type your answers. You are expected to answer the exam questions in 3 hours 15 minutes and submit your answer via the designated Turnitin link at any time throughout the specified window of time.

• All answers must be typed in a minimum 12 font, with double spacing using word document.

• A total of six (6) questions must be answered in one single attempt.

• You are required to abide by La Trobe University’s principle of Academic Integrity. Academic integrity means being honest in academic work and taking responsibility for learning the conventions of scholarship.

• This exam must be undertaken for successful completion of the subject. Failing to submit the answer sheet within the specified time without an approved special consideration application is deemed automatic fail in this exam.

• The total marks of this take-home exam are 60 marks and its weighted 60% of the total assessment in this subject.

• Questions (for Melbourne and regional campuses) for clarification during the exam period can be submitted to Seema Miglani 

• Please note to ensure equity to all students, student question cannot be responded to if it relates to ‘how’ to answer the question.

2. Learning Access Plan (LAP) (if applicable) For students with LAP, normal arrangements will apply. If you have queries regarding your LAP or if you require further support for your studies, please contact Equity and Diversity. As there is an 8-hour window for the completion of the ACC3AUD take-home exam there is no additional time allocated. You are expected to manage your time within this 8 hours window unless there are exceptional circumstances in which please email Subject Coordinator  prior to the exam to discuss.

3. Special consideration This is a formal assessment in this subject. If you are unable to submit the task due to exceptional circumstance, you may apply for special consideration within 5 working days (inclusive) of the task. 

4. Examinable topics Weekly topics 1-11 (consistent with what has been outlined in the Subject Learning Guide for the current semester).

5. Structure of the exam The exam comprises 6 professional application questions (case studies).

6. Revision exercise A set of revision questions will be available by 26 May 2020. The purpose of the revision questions is to assist you to be familiar with the type of questions and the structure of the ‘take-home exam’. You are expected to use these revision questions as part of your subject review and exam preparation. The revision questions should NOT be used as the only source of reference for the exam preparation.

7. Student consultation is available via Zoom and details will be provided on LMS.
