This is an individual assessment task. Your role will be that of a management consultant. You will analyze the case study: Health Services Software. Two links related to the case study are available to you via Moodle: “Health Services Software” case study and related “Spreadsheets”.

You are required to prepare a report for the board of directors/senior leadership of the organization addressing the following questions/concerns:
1. Complete the cost allocation worksheet in case Exhibit 4 (please refer to ‘spreadsheets’ link).
2. Based on the cost allocations, determine the costs per unit of output for the three service lines: software development, professional services, and special projects.
3. Based on Q1 and Q2, provide recommendations on how cost information can be useful in Heath Services Software’s decision-making process.

Your report should preferably be in the format of an executive summary (not exceeding 600 words). So, the questions/concerns would be addressed in an integrated fashion seamlessly within the executive summary, not just a sequential answering of them like in an exam script. The recommendations will arise out of the analyses made to address the questions. Include only the key ones that are clearly practical and actionable.

Criteria for marking: In marking the executive summary, particular attention will be paid to:

•  The extent to which the requirements of the assignment have been met
•  The fluency of argument, that is, the extent to which the executive summary is well-written and provides convincing arguments*;
•  The consistency (or flow) of the executive summary, that is, the extent to which the executive summary is a coherent piece rather than a sum of individual parts;
•  The innovation and originality shown, and;
•  Adherence to the word limit

them:

•  How well were the problems of the casediagnosed?
• How well were the problems analyzed and contextualized?
