Research Proposal Assignment:

Task: For this assessment task, you will need to put together a 4,000 word research proposal drawing on the research methods we have covered so far in this unit. This word count includes your reference list, which should have at least 10 references for scholarly sources. In the topic 6 practical task, you have already sketched out the sections that you will need to respond to. Now you will need to know what research has already been done in this area so that you can ascertain what has already been done and how you can respond to your client’s brief with the angle of novelty and expert knowledge. Your next step will be to search the scholarly literature. To do this, you will need to use your digital literacy skills to locate prior research on the topic in the scholarly databases. Identify up to five key words relating to the research brief and use these to do a structured search of the literature. Review at least five scholarly articles presenting an original study. You can then search further by looking at their reference lists and onward citing literature. Where possible, included studies published in the last five years. Select studies with high citations and done by accomplished scholars (usually reflected by their university affiliation or number of publications they have produced with a diversity of collaborators).
