Overview
Executive memo from the Head of Strategy (i.e. YOU) to the CEO (of your case company) that provides detailed suggestions on how the company should adapt its Value DELIVERY system (including any business ecosystem development and/or adaptation) to realize/implement the suggested value CREATION & value CAPTURE ideas (e.g. specific network effects, digital twins, recommender systems, tokenization of assets or other business model patterns) that you (and your group) developed for the group work/group presentation.
As Head of Strategy, it is up to you to choose the questions you think are essential to address in your report to the CEO. Possible questions to address in the report are:
- How do the suggested value creation/capture changes from your group work/presentation (i.e. essential business model patterns) affect your company's strategic positioning (e.g. you might use the "strategic sweet spot" framework for this)?
- This also includes a potential shift in focus regarding your targeted customer segments. So, does the company need to address new customer segments or abandon existing ones, why?
- Which technologies does the company need to build expertise in, why?
- What kind of business ecosystem does the company need to develop, get involved, or adapt (if any)?
- What kind of (additional) skills, job profiles, career paths etc. does the company need to acquire/establish?
- What kind of mindset changes at the top and/or middle management level or the employee level (maybe only selected groups of employees) are required - towards the corporate culture and involvement in business ecosystems?
- Are there significant changes required along the company's data value chain?
- Which processes within the company need to be adapted (e.g. hiring, marketing, operations etc.)?
- Does the company need to change its organizational structure, and if, how?
