ASSESSMENT DESCRIPTION:
This assessment is an individual design and implementation of a document database.
A giant clothing company has asked you to design and implement their database for storing clothing information and purchase orders.
The company deals with different clothing items, such as trousers, shirts, and skirts. They also deal with smaller items such as hats/caps, socks, handkerchiefs, and belts. For shirts, trousers and skirts, the information that they have to store is item type, material, colour (for each colour, they need to store available sizes and their quantities), price per item. For smaller items, such as hats/caps, they need to store information such as item type, price, colour (sizes and quantity for each color). Belts and handkerchief are one size so no size information would be stored, just colour and respective quantities need to be stored. The company wants to store information about vendors too so that they can make a purchase order when the stocks are low. For vendor information, it is name of the vendor, address, contact information, and the products that it supplies.
The company has informed that most of the time queries would be about stocks, i.e., how many pieces of certain clothing item is left in store. Sometimes, the purchase order needs to be generated too if the stock is too low. For purchase order, the information about product and vendor both is required. Most of the time searching would be on item number, but sometimes it can be on item type or vendor location.
1. Using given information design JSON documents for all entities (clothing items as well as vendors)
2. Decide whether you want to put the vendor information together with the clothing items or keep them as separate document.
3. Create a database called clothingStore and create a collection called products that can hold documents.
4. Decide what fields should be used for creating index and create at least two indices on appropriate fields.
5. Apply following find queries:
a. Finds all documents.
b. Finds documents that satisfy any one search condition.
c. Finds documents that satisfy more than one search conditions using Boolean operator.
