Your first assessment task requires you to select, research and write a case study analysis of a development project run by a recognised organisation. You may use a project you are involved with, but please use only publicly available information.

Purpose
The purpose of this assessment is to assess your ability to select, research and critically analyse a real development project and to determine where it sits in the context of the development sector.
Instructions
Imagine you have been recruited by a development organisation to work on a specific project. The organisation has asked you to complete an evaluation of the project before you start so you can 'hit the ground running'.
a) Choose an existing development project for your case study. Make sure you can find enough good information about the project. You case study may be based in Australia or overseas. (You are encouraged to contact the unit educators to discuss case study selection.)
Assessment task 1: details (individual)
international development theories which seem fundamental to this project or organisation. You will need to analyse this from both public statements or documents and actual practice, given they are unlikely to state this. If you are studying a community project you might compare the way they conceptualise community development with readings from Week 2 If you are examining an international project you might compare their principles with Week 3 timeline or readings
