  • Scenario:
  • The supervisor on the project will be off site for the next 2 weeks and the Project manager has instructed you to plan, coordinate and manage the section of the suspended upper floor work spanning across the Comms room, Liaison officer, Reception, and Officer in charge rooms. The floor area is noted on the section details A, D, and E on drawing - 08. You examined the documentation and you discover that you are missing information and documentation on the suspended floor system, not included with the document package.
  • You contact the Architect for the project, and the Architect has issued you with a formal instruction covering the structural details (copy attached below) to enable you to proceed with the work.
  • The details are as follows:
  • Floor slab to be steel reinforced concrete, thickness of 150mm, placed over Bondek permanent formwork over steel floor beams 200UB 25.4.
  • Main slab reinforcement to be N16 bar, both ways in mesh pattern placed with a minimum top cover of 30mm.
  • Shear studs to the UB floor beam at 300 centres.
  • Standard steel plastic tipped bar chairs are to be used.
  • This information is to supplement the section details A,D,E of Architectural drawing 08.
