Task: Advanced Nursing and Nurse Practitioner positions are developed to implement a new model of care or expand existing models of care, in order to address identified needs or gaps in a health service. This assessment asks students to produce a written proposal outlining the research and planning for the implementation or expansion of an Advanced Nursing (for example, CNC, CNE) or Nurse Practitioner role in an Australian jurisdiction. Students studying towards registration as a Nurse Practitioner are advised to complete the assessment by developing a Nurse Practitioner service design. Students should bring a draft to Workshop 1 for discussion and feedback. The structure of the final document will be based on authoritative documents which will be outlined in class. Students will also interact in class and via the Canvas Discussion Board to research, develop and plan their advanced practice role proposal.
