In this task, you are required to:

1. Select an individual who has faced adversity. You may choose one from the list above OR someone you know who has faced adversity.

2. Submit a written report of no more than two A4 pages including the following.

• A brief outline of the person’s life story.

• The challenges and adversities faced by the person. Include any injury, mental health, illness, substance abuse or relationship problems the person may have encountered.

• Identify and examine the strategies this person used to help them be resilient. Include in your report support networks used to help them cope. You will need to define the term ‘resilience’ and investigate strategies used to help them overcome the problem. 

• What lessons you could learn from them to help you develop strategies to face adversity in your life.

• Students must include a bibliography
