Assignment Task

Write an experimental finance essay and prepare (not present) a PowerPoint presentation. This should involve the design (but not running) of the experiment, an explanation of the theory that supports this experiment as well as expected results (no data analysis is needed as you will not generate a data set but existing results should be considered.) Please note: You should not prepare a business research methods assignment the focus is on Behavioural Economics.

As an alternative students can write up a pilot study based on illustrating course topics with real stock exchange trading data historic and current.

In addition to their essay students are required to submit a 12 slide PowerPoint presentation summarising their essay. This can submitted as a separate file or as an appendix in the word document.

The coursework will be marked on the 5 elements as below (mark weighting).

1) Structure and context: Abstract/exec summary, Introduction, Conclusion, appendix & Bibliography

2) Research: Literature review, theoretic model, hypothesis

3) Experiment/illustration: Suitable data, experimental design, experimental hypothesis

4) Results: expected results, Discussion of expected results, some existing findings from relevant literature

5) PowerPoint presentation
