To further refine the search the keywords (Medical cannabis OR pharmaceutical marijuana) AND (chronic pain OR persistent discomfort) AND (management OR control) were utilised and after performing an advance search using these terms provided 137 search results. Once implementing the limiters of language, systematic review, and meta-analysis, the search was able to be narrowed and refined to 10. By changing the keywords to other synonyms and eliminating words, it allows the search to be broadened where more results will be obtained. For example, disregarding the words chronic and medical/pharmaceutical in the search it widens the search to 765 results in CINAHL and 574 in PubMed without any limiters applied. Therefore, using precise words and utilising limiters it helps refine and finalise the search to retrieve the most relevant sources.
