In this milestone, we’ll be starting the traffic light system project which is the major assessment task for the second half of this semester. This part of the project will focus on creating an automated traffic light system; i.e. one that does not require pedestrians to push a button to cross the road but is on a timer instead. 

Begin by using the ‘Counter Limited’ block to generate the required count numbers for the  traffic light system. Set the counter’s parameters so it counts from 0 to 15, show this behavior on a scope block to confirm this. 

Now use the counter together with Simulink logic and lamp blocks to create a model that: 

Consists of three (3) traffic lights (red, yellow, and green) and two (2) pedestrian lights (red and green). 

The traffic should be allowed to go for seven (7) counts (traffic green, pedestrians red). - The caution signal should come on for three (3) counts after this (traffic yellow,  pedestrians red). 

 Lastly, the pedestrians should be able to walk for six (6) counts (traffic red, pedestrians green). 

 The system must then reset back to the initial traffic go state and repeat.
