Assessment Event
Portfolio: Analyse, design and develop documentation.
This event requires you to submit a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates your ability to create technical documentation that is clear to the target audience and easy to navigate.
Your portfolio of evidence must include the following items:
Industry standards
Technical documentation report
Style guide
Amended document
These items must address the criteria as listed in Table 1:

You must meet the below criteria in order to successfully complete this assessment event.
1.Industry
standards Submit a short report (approximately a page) on relevant industry standards. The report must:
Be relevant given the scenario, consultant advice and supervisor inputIdentify at least three (3) relevant industry standards related to technical documentation for a games development company.
Provide a cover memo to introduce the short report. The memo must:
Be addressed to management.
Reference the short report appropriately
Explain the relevance of industry standards
Explain relevant instructional design principles, including addressing each of:
General design principles
Content features, such as clarity and readability
Principles of document design, web design and usability
functions and features of templates and style guides
You must meet the below criteria in order to successfully complete this assessment event.

2. Technical
Documentation Report Submit a report about technical documentation that must:
Be relevant given the consultant advice and supervisor inputInclude at least three (3) types of technical documentation
For each of the document types include the following:
The purpose of the documentation
A description of the document
The audience for the document
An outline of an appropriate document format, addressing each of:
Flow of information
Style
Tone
Content format
3.Style guide Provide a Style Guide that must be:
Formatted appropriately given the content of the Style Guide
Relevant, given the consultant advice and supervisor inputThe guide must include the following topics as a minimum:
Use of vocabulary
Paragraphing
Styles for both:
Internal documentation
External documentation
Special considerations for:
Online documentation
Paper-based documentation
Copyright restrictions identifying:
Identify at least three (3) key considerations in document production
3. The guide must include at least one sample template (e.g. .dotx) that
incorporates the requirements from the style guide (e.g. a sample Formal
Report).

You must meet the below criteria in order to successfully complete this assessment event.
4. Amended document Submit an updated version of the Draft Document provided (ICTICT408_Assessment Event 1-4_DraftDocument_v1.0.docx). You must have:
Incorporated relevant updates based on the consultant advice and supervisor input, this must include the document being:

formatted, applying your Style Guide
Note: You will receive feedback on this document that must be incorporated into updates required in Assessment Event 2 Part 1.

You must await feedback on your Assessment Event 1 submission before proceeding with Part 1 of this Assessment Event. You may commence Part 2 in the interim.
