Review the assigned reading (Kanter’s leadership skills for change in Week 3) and use elements of this framework to analyse and evaluate the change leadership of Om Prakash Bhatt in his effort as Chairman to transform the State Bank of India (McKinsey interview with Bhatt). You may also draw upon other course concepts from Weeks 1-4 as useful to inform your analysis.
Specifically, we want you to: 1. Provide an overview of the leadership skills identified by Kanter;
2. Analyse the leadership skills displayed by the key agent/s of change in the case provided (i.e. the Chairman and/or any others of note), and assess the impact (positive or negative) of these skills on the change intervention(s) made; and,
3. Critically evaluate and critique the adequacy of the framework proposed by Kanter.
