Assignment Task
I have researched organisations that provide early intervention and transition services for our newest students, as such services bear unique significance to all stakeholders within special education as a student, teacher, facilitator, parent, guardian, caregiver or other.
According to Dunst and Trivette 2009, early intervention is.
supports and resources provided and mobilised to families of young children from informal and formal social network members that influence and improve, either directly or indirectly, the behaviour and functioning of the parent, family and child.
A contemporary view of intervention (which is comparatively more relevant the traditional view of intervention) considers children and families as having varied strengths and assets, where intervention is used to promote competence (capacity-building paradigm) (Dunst & Trivette, 2009).
