The earliest kinematic analysis of boxing movements using the search strategy was published in 1988. More recent studies show that peak contact forces are more likely to be in the range of 1900-5900 N or 190-590kg (varying with gender and weight class of the boxer), with an approximate mean peak of 1275m/s2 (130g) acceleration recorded.
