SECTION A

Question 1 
Imagine you work in the public service and have been tasked to create materials to raise awareness of various topics relating to Singapore. The target audience, in this case, can either be businesses that are looking to invest in Singapore, or professionals who may be planning to work in Singapore. You are to use Singapore’s Public Data for the creation of educational materials. Your materials should cover at least two of the following topics: Economy, Education, Environment, Finance, Health, Infrastructure, Society, Technology and Transport. 

(a) State the topics you will be covering for the materials. Using the Balanced Scorecard Perspective, suggest one (1) Strategic Objective for each of the four perspectives. Explain how the objectives are related to the perspectives.

(b) For each of the Strategic Objectives listed in part (a), suggest one Business Performance Measure, as well as a chart that can be used for visualisation of the measure. Assess the effectiveness of your charts.
 
(c) The charts in part (b) are to be used in a dashboard. Is your dashboard a strategic, tactical or operational dashboard? Provide reasons for your choice. (4 marks) 

(d) For each chart that you have described in part (b), you are to use at least two (2) of the following items:  
(i) Trend line 
(ii) Reference Line  
(iii) Parameter 
(iv) Forecast 

Each of the aforementioned items must be used at least once. Provide screenshots of the charts in your report.

(e) Using the charts created in part (d), develop a dashboard that will highlight your Business Performance Measures described in part (b). You may create more charts if needed to make your dashboard provide a more holistic view of insights from the data.  
 
Discuss how your dashboard has followed the Dashboard Design Principles. Provide a screenshot of your dashboard in the report.

(f) Create two (2) relevant Actions for advanced Dashboard Navigation so that users will be able to perform some of the following actions: filtering, highlighting, drilling down or navigating to an external HTTP link. Provide screenshots of the Action settings. 

(g) Develop a storyboard with at least three (3) story points. The story points need to provide insight from the data, as well as highlight the Strategic Objectives from part (a). You may create more dashboards to give a more holistic view of the insights from the data set.  
 
Provide screenshots of the storyboard in your report. 

(h) Explain the insights your storyboard captured from the data. Explain the ways your storyboard are able to bring across your points more effectively than using just a Dashboard.
