Assignment Task

1. Import the following data in EViews

a) Macro uk (Annul consumption expenditure by households (CONS), government expenditure (GOV), investment (INV) and GDP)

b) Pcocofea (Monthly data on the price of cocoa, coffee and tea)

2) Basic Data Handling

a) Creating a work-file.

b) Different ways of importing Data/Verifying Data/ Examining data.

c) Descriptive statistics and correlations.

d) Histograms.

e) Graph and plots.

f) Variables generation and manipulation.

3) Using the data above

a) Run the following regression using Pcocofea data:

L(pcocoa) c L(pcoffee) L(pcoffee(-1)) Lpcocoa(-1 to -3).

Where L denotes natural log

b) Test the residuals from the above regression for

• Autocorrelation.
• Heteroskedasticity

c) Generate a script file for all the above.

4) Repeat the step (3) using macrouk data

Note: Estimate the regression for the GDP
