Introduction Paragraph

I, Tamjid Tauqir Khan is writing this application to obtain Study Permit Visa in order to pursue my Post Graduation Diploma in Information Technology Solutions at Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for September – 2023 intake. 

Family Background

We are a small, simple and solicitude family of four people. My father is a businessman, he owns an agency named City Enterprises. This agency delivers the tender work of Western Railway Mumbai, India on contract bases. My mother is a housewife, I have an elder sister who is married and working as a QA Lead in Pi Technologies Private Limited situated in Mumbai, India. As I am the only son in my family, without a doubt as soon as my studies are completed, I will return to India to embrace them with love and support them financially.

Academic Background

I have completed my SSC, HSC and Bachelor’s in Engineering from Mumbai University. In Class 10 ^th I secured 88.60% and in Class 12 ^th I got 81.23% and then I pursued my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and performed exceptionally well and achieved a CGPA of 8.79. Even though my stream was mechanical engineering, computer science was something with which I was already very much familiar. In my high school I had taken Computer Science as my elective subject and then during my bachelor’s I had subject’s like Structured Programming Approach, Data Base and Information Retrieval which helped me even more to improve my coding skills. I had participated in a robotics workshop where we made an autonomous car bot in which we used Arduino software to run our car The pivotal point of my life where I decided that I will pursue my career in IT industry was my final year project, in which our group was making a cooling vest. I was given the responsibility to carry out the software design and simulation of the vest. At that point I made my decision to seek a job and move on with my career in IT industry.

IELTS

My Overall IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score is 7. In the individual sections I scored as follows: Listening: 8.5, Reading: 7.5, Writing: 6.5, Speaking: 6.

Professional Experience

Even though there was an academic and knowledge difference between me and the students from computer science engineering department. With my goal set to work in IT industry, I got a job offer from none other than one of the biggest MNC’s in the IT industry; Cognizant. I joined as an entry level trainee and was trained in Database Tech Domain. As soon as the training was over, I was deployed into Apple project. As of now I am still working in Apple project and my role is of a developer. My work majorly constitutes of designing and building ETL (Extract Transform Load) pipeline. Currently I am working on technologies like Teradata and Snowflake. My task in this project include to analyze, develop and build ETL pipeline, to do regression testing of applications, to debug and solve the stored procedure and to ensure smooth flow of data from source destination to target destination. Spending more than a year in Cognizant has not only helped me to grow but also led to improve my skillset, critical thinking and made me a better team player. But I realized that in order to keep up with this fast paced world I need to adapt myself with the latest advancement in the technology and for that I need to enroll myself in a computer science program.

Why Abroad?

I was in search of a program where I would not only learn the new technology confined to a particular application but also would be able to explore other domains of IT industry. This would help me to have widen my vision in terms of opportunities present in today’s time. Unfortunately, in India the vision is quite narrow and there are not much viable options for a person who wants to do higher education in computer stream after doing a bachelor’s in Mechanical engineering. So that’s when I started looking for study opportunities in abroad. Another major point which inspired me to go abroad is the real time application of advance technology which is commonly used by people in day to day life. It would definitely help to learn and understand things from a first person perspective and when I will go back to my country after completing the studies it would give me an edge over other people.

Why this course and Why Humber College?

Shortlisting amongst various programs and colleges was quite a challenge but then I finally found out this program Information Technology Solutions at one of the most prestigious colleges in Canada, Humber College. As I was looking out for a program that not only teaches a particular technology but also would help me to explore more options well this program does all of that and like a cherry on a cake as it also provides with practical learning in the subsequent semesters. The official website of Humber College is so user friendly, we can find all the information regarding all the programs, admission requirements and fees structure. The learning outcome of this course will not provide me with knowledge of a software developer but will also teach me about web development, data analyst and database administration. The faculty teaching at Humber is one of the top notched in Canada I believe they would help me to get a lot of exposure which will be immensely helpful. Lastly the location of Humber IGS Campus is in Toronto, Canada’s largest and most developed city.

Why Canada?

Canada is the only nation which features as best the country not only for education but as also for its quality of life and Human Rights. It is a country which has a rich and diverse culture which make it pleasant for foreign students to stay there. The quality of life and education provided to an international student is tremendously better when compared to other countries. With such a heterogenous crowd it will be a great and rewarding experience which will help me to grow in life.

Future Objective

Not adapting with new changes in technology will definitely leave one behind. This course will help me to learn, understand, implement and will lay a solid foundation for me in this ever changing world of technology. My aim is to successfully complete this course in the given period of time and become proficient in coding. There is an increasing demand for IT professionals in India. With the knowledge that I will grasp in this program, it will give me a huge boost to achieve the position that I dreamt of, which would have taken years for me to reach. At this moment all the high tech companies from all over the world have already started to lay their campuses in India. Soon India is going to become a second silicon valley for sure. I would like to complete my course and return to India since there will be a lot of job opportunities for me.

Financials

I thankful for my family who are providing me with all the financial support. Currently I have paid my course fee of CAD 21501, and I have also deposited the GIC amount of CAD 10200 to XXXXXX Bank. I have attached the receipts of the same along with this application. For any other financial expense from my end, my family will support me.
