For this assessment, you are asked to conduct a literature review to address one of the two topics listed below.

Topics are centered around the content based on Memory and Cognition. Specific requirements are indicated for each topic. Please be sure to review the task statements. Background

There is evidence to suggest that an individual can be vulnerable to incorporating socially suggested false memories into their memory reports. However, the age of the person providing the false memories can impact the degree to which these false memories are “believed” and incorporated. That is, according to Meade, McNabb, Lindeman and Smith (2017) when attention is drawn to the age of the person providing the false memories people are less likely to incorporate these false memories into their memory reports when they come from older as opposed to younger people. Hence, people may only discount memory from older adults when age is made highly salient.
