The aim of this session is to demonstrate your skills and knowledge regarding teaching and learning by performing a patient teaching session. These skills and knowledge will be demonstrated in two pieces of assessed work.  One assessed piece will be a formal patient teaching session using multi-media The other piece of assessment will be in the form of a written paper that explains and justifies your teaching session. The overall assessment is worth 30%; each piece of work will be worth 15%.

• Students will create their own individual teaching presentations.

• The multimedia patient teaching session will be strictly limited to 10 minutes. The students in the group will act as proxy patients for the teaching session and support each other.

• You will be required to base your teaching session on the best available evidence which can be extracted information from articles in Q1 or Q2 journal (peer review and high-quality journals)

• Each student will video record her/his patient teaching session and then upload it along with the session plan on Moodle Instructions on how to do this will be provided.

• The assessment criteria are available below and the detailed marking grids.

• Ten health topics are available  that you can choose one of them for your teaching presentation
