LEASE FIND A TRANSCRIPT OF CONDUCTED INTERVIEW IN THIS DOCUMENT

Research topic: Are white-collar offences more harmful than other offences?

Title and Abstract

Your 8tle should be short and concise, explaining which topic was studied. If you are a bit stuck it is good to  look at other qualita8ve research papers as a guide.

Your abstract is a concise, 100-150 word summary of what you set out to do, why, how you did it, and what  you found. For this assignment it should include what your study set out to do, what method(s) of research  and analysis you adopted, what your findings were, and what conclusions you draw from these. It should be  capable of being read independently as a standalone summary of your paper, and should include your  research ques8on. It is best to write your abstract aXer you have done everything else.

Introduc!on

As was the case for your quan8ta8ve lab report, the introduc8on should provide an argument to jus8fy why  your study has been conducted by describing what previous research has been done on your topic, and by  cri8cally analysing this past research as well. You should include references to literature which you have  used to beZer understand your topic and to formulate your research ques8ons and interview guide. Put  your research ques8ons towards the end of this sec8on. You should clearly state your research ques8on and  the ra8onale for your study (why are you doing this?), but you will NOT need to include a hypothesis.

Method

Describe what method(s) you used to undertake your interview and why you used this method(s). Describe  what method(s) of analysis you used to undertake your qualita8ve data analysis and why you used this  method(s). Reference literature you have used to help you decide what research and analysis methods(s) to  use. Keep it brief and relevant. See lecture and seminar materials to help you complete this sec8on. Please  note that you do NOT need to include subsec8ons (e.g. Par8cipants, Materials, Procedure) as you did with  the quan8ta8ve lab report. However, you should s8ll provide some background informa8on on who  par8cipated in your study.

Results

Write up of your results. This will depend on what method you use, but will broadly be based around  iden8fying and describing key themes from your data. You can illustrate themes in your data with well-

chosen quotes from your transcript. Any quotes should be clearly iden8fied as such and given anonymously.  For the purposes of this assignment, words in any quotes you use will NOT count towards your word limit.  See lecture and seminar materials from Weeks 4 and 5 to help you complete this sec8on.

Discussion

Relate your results back to your research ques8on (i.e. aZempt to answer it). What have you found? How  does this relate to previous research? What has been learnt from the research? Discuss any limita8ons and  make any relevant sugges8ons for ways you could have improved your study, as well as any  recommenda8ons for future research. Do not forget a brief concluding paragraph as well where you will  summarise your report.
