In addition, students are to clarify and outline below the agency expectations and arrangements regarding placement attendance including Time in Lieu, daily check-in and check-out arrangements and what happens in the event of a late arrival or emergency. Please include procedure for informing Field Educator of student absence due to illness, number of days, days of the week, hours of attendance, punctuality, accountability and use of time sheets to document and verify attendance.

Formal Supervision Arrangements Agency supervisors are required to provide the equivalent of at least one hour per week of formal (planned teaching time) supervision for students. Students are to summarise the planned formal supervision arrangements including scheduled meeting dates and times; arrangements for preparing the agenda for each supervision session; planned methods and techniques of learning and supervision; evaluation procedures including confirmation of dates for mid and end of placement evaluation sessions. The Student and Field Educator should discuss the expectations they have about supervision with one another and document them here. Where there is more than one Field Educator (e.g. 2 social workers, or 1 social worker and 1 non-social worker) please clarify the lines of accountability and specific supervision arrangements in relation to each Field Educator.

Informal Supervision Arrangements Informal supervision is responsive and complements, rather than replaces, formal supervision. It is a way to deal with an immediate student need, relating to checking agency procedures, gaining important information or receiving support to handle a crisis. Below the student is to describe the arrangements for access to their Field Educator on a day to day basis. If additional agency staff members will be involved in providing informal supervision please note those details here.
