2. This assessment has three components which will enable students to demonstrate their skills in identifying and issue, researching it and presenting it in the most concise manner possible and concluding in proposing a solution to that social issue/dilemma. 

The unit learning outcome(s) assessed is/are: 

• LO 1. Articulate the importance of being a reflective practitioner within a local and global community; 

• LO 3. Critically review a range of research tools and implement with an understanding of ethical, legal, and financial considerations, and how they impact individuals and the community; 

• LO 4. Review examples of research proposals and reports that contribute to work and community networks; and 

• LO 5. Evaluate and analyse relevant literature that is useful to and identifies good practice; in youth work, community and professional practice debates.

The context of this assessment is to enable the student to provide a summary of facts pertaining to an issue, including a suggested course of action. This will test the student's research, review, articulation and constructive argument skills and tests their ability to condense their work into a short Briefing paper and an even more condensed short presentation whilst still being pointed and informative.
