Assignment Task 

Introduction

It shall justify and highlight the problem posed, define the topic and explain the aim and scope of the work presented in the dissertation. It may also highlight the significant contributions from the investigation.

Content

Dissertation will have a number of chapters. Each dissertation shall begin with Introduction and end with summary and conclusion. Each chapter will have a title about the contents of the chapter. The chapter can be subdivided into sections, sub-sections and sub-sub-sections so as to present the content precisely and with due importance.

Case Study

Work done Investigations carried out shall be presented in one or more chapters with proper chapter titles.

1. Case studies, materials and methods, procedures adopted and methodologies adopted will be given importance.

2. Extensive details in tabular and graphical forms may be presented in Appendices. However representative data in table/s and figure/s may be included in appropriate chapters.

3. Figures and tables should be presented following their first mention in the text. Short tables and figures (say, less than half the writing area of the page) should be presented within the text. Large tables and figures may be presented on separate pages. Each table and figure must be serially numbered.

4. Separate lines with appropriate paragraph separation (above and below the equation line) should be used for equations. All equations should be numbered, with the numbers flushed to the right.

Summary and Conclusion

This shall be the final chapter of the dissertation. The chapter shall consist of different parts.

1. The first part shall be a brief report of the entire work carried out.

2. The subsequent parts shall be conclusions derived from the logical analysis presented in the previous chapter. The conclusion will be enumerated and presented in a clear manner, each point stated separately.

3. The last part of the chapter will state the ‘scope for future research’ in a simple and logical manner.
