Using the Clinical Skills Self-Assessment Tool helped me in identifying a critical gap in my ability to deliver structured and clear preoperative education to the patients and their attendants on some common experiences after anesthesia such as nausea, shivering, delayed mobility or speech, temporary cognitive impairments, etc., which lead to profound distress if not known or anticipated (Jeon et al., 2020).
