In giving your explanation, draw on an example from a population group and/or social phenomenon in society to illustrate your answers. Topic 10: Australian Health Care and Aged Care Systems i. Discuss briefly what is meant by the social determinants of health; ii. Discuss briefly what is meant by ‘the causes of the causes'; iii. Illustrate your answer by focusing on one health issue (eg. a chronic illness, an injury from accident, a mental illness, drug dependency or other); N.B. you are not required to give a detailed biomedical account of the health issue; you are required to focus on the social determinants. Remember, the max. word count is 700 words so use it wisely Choose one other topic from the following: Topic 7: Cultural Institutions in Australia i. What is meant by ‘ethnicity' and how does it differ from ‘race'? ii. Discuss why and how understanding ethnicity is critical to the conduct of work in community services and/or social work; iii.
