In this section, some previous works in this particular field will be reviewed to enhance a holistic idea about the nature of research works done in this scenario. According to Jamshidi et al. (2016), the review section is important for every researcher as he needs to obtain a good amount of idea to make sure what he can add to the research paradigm. Without a proper review of relevant literature, research work can be a repetition of a prior one. In this present work, several articles by previous researchers will be reviewed to obtain a proper concept about what is to be done in this research.
There remains a common schema about the ideal environment of a hospital which is rarely followed in the real world. The working environment is considered to have a great impact on the proper nursing care facility. In an ideal situation, a nurse can work with the fullest of his potential and can provide proper healing services to a patient. As opined by Blackstock et al. (2015), there remain some situations where a nurse is found to have an intention for providing proper care but adequate amount of health equipment is not present. Some practitioners in the health industry consider that the relation between a physician and a nurse is the key to provide proper care to a patient. According to Cheung et al. (2018), nurses are the individuals who directly determine the quality of care provided to a patient and help him to come out from the state of illness. World health organization has defined a healthy environment to be mental, physical and social wellbeing of an individual. This needs to be maintained for allowing the nurses to come out with proper care facilities for patients. Moonaghi et al. (2015), claims that employers in health organizations sometimes overlook the factor of a proper working environment for nurses. They are perceived to have qualities which enable them to cope up with every possible situation. In a real setting, they are found to face difficulties for not providing a proper working environment. Nonetheless, there is need to set up proper training and nursing care program for the nurses in providing quality nursing care in Atoll hospital Mahibadhoo which helps in better treatment and care of the patients in Atoll hospital Mahibadhoo. For instance, all the nurses needs to be more aligned with the advance technologies and system process for their better treatment care facility provided to the patients in Atoll hospital Mahibadhoo which will help in strengthen the overall care facility. It is analyzed that the factor related to the working experience of nurses cannot be solved by any controlling measure as it requires proper experience to minimize the absence of experience. However, all the factors are interlined and needs to be assessed to strengthen the nursing care program and managing the patient work process.
Structure of working is said to be important irrespective of the nature of a given industry. In the case of nursing, it becomes very much crucial due to some exclusive reasons. When it comes to nursing care facility every patient is said to be treated with some personal care as all of them are different from one another to some extent (Ahn et al. 2016). Understanding the patient's needs is never that simple as it to be recommended to them. A major issue faced by nurses that is related to work structure as the nurses need to fulfil a multi-tasking role at most of the times. Most of the healthcare organization remains reluctant to employ people in different posts and expect the nurses to serve those roles at a time. This kind of attitude is said to have a direct impact on the services provided by nurses of a health organization. Work structure is also very important in this particular profession as it is a 24X7 job with different work sessions. A considerable number of nursing practitioners have been found to face difficulties with their work shifts. Most of the common symptoms are sleeping difficulties and anxiety-related problems (Molero Jurado et al. 2018). Lack of planning and problems in the work structure are said to be the root of this kind of problems. Managers in this industry need to understand that health organizations are not only meant to cure diseases of people. There remain some additional issues which they need to keep under consideration.
Nurse patient ratio tells about the number of nurses to be provided for a single patient. There are some arguments among experts regarding this question. It remains hard to conclude with a specific ratio for all kind of healthcare facilities. 1:2 is considered to be a standard ratio for a regular patient. On the other hand, if a patient is in critical condition the ratio needs to be raised to 1:4 or 1:5 depending upon the severity of the situation. All these numbers are some ideal values in real-world practices which are rarely maintained. According to Blackman et al. (2015), most of the hospitals are found to provide a 1:1 nurse-patient ratio in some cases numbers of patients are exceeded the number of nurses available. In such a condition proper decision regarding this respect become critical. However, it is divulged that proper training is important in nursing but it cannot be as effective as real working experience as this work is a complex and multi-layered one. It is analyzed that the nurses need to make some decisions about the patient and that too varies with the nature of illness a patient having. As healthcare comes under emergency services an organization cannot deny admitting a patient due to some ethical considerations (Sigalit, Sivia & Michal, 2017). At the same time, they should not admit a patient if they will not be able to provide proper services to him. A health organization must shape their work structure in such a way that a proper nurse-patient ratio can be maintained irrespective of the emergence of a situation.
Resource of a healthcare organization has several aspects, most of which are commonly neglected by their governing body. Nurse patient ratio depends on the resources available in a hospital as a higher number of patients can be managed if there are an adequate number of nurses. Other human resources directly associated with healthcare are equally important as proper healthcare facility requires a good amount of manpower to deal with different areas of it. Another important resource factor is health equipment available in an organization. According to Cañadas-De la Fuente et al. (2015), with the improvement in the technologies, the healthcare industry has been hugely benefited. Diagnosis of a disease is dependent on technological devices. At the same time, it also helps to cure a person of illness by making advanced techniques available to a patient. As opined by Senior et al. (2015), most of the time nurses face difficulties to provide proper nursing care to the patients due to the absence of resources. This kind of problems can be said to exist due to the temperament held by management groups in this organization. They remain to tend to make a high amount of profit with minimum investment. A good amount of resources can be obtained as most of people can afford the expenses in this particular industry. Furthermore, the resources capital, human resources involved in providing the patient care and program of Atoll hospital Mahibadhoo needs to be aligned and proper care treatment objectives needs to be set to strengthen the patient care and nursing program given in Atoll hospital Mahibadhoo to the patients.
