OVERVIEW
This assessment requires you to critically analyse one of the available articles and present your interpretation to the class as a group presentation. Through this assessment, you will demonstrate your ability to review, understand and interpret an advanced issue related to Banking. You will also demonstrate your ability to communicate to others using various presentation methods (written, oral) and to work as part of a team. Refer to the assessment details, criteria and supporting attachments for further information. This assessment supports learning outcomes 3 and 5:
• Critically review the lending activities of financial institutions and assess the risks associated with these activities by employing the basic principles governing bank lending;
• Discuss and analyse the broader issues involved in a financial institution's management of its credit risk.
DETAILS
In groups of four (4), your task is to choose an available Banking article and to understand and interpret the focal issues raised. Your understanding needs to be presented in any way you choose, but must be entertaining, attractive and interactive (the presentation is to be approximately 10 minutes in length).
Each group will choose a case study / report from a group of provided examples, to present in self-video format during Session 5 or 6 (to be confirmed by your teacher). Group presentation topics are available in VU Collaborate. You will need to ensure you do not choose the same article/case as another group. Please email your teacher with your presentation topic. These will be chosen on a first come, first served basis.
Instructions
As a group:
1. Choose an article from the selection on VU Collaborate
2. Read the article and develop an understanding of what the author is saying. Where needed, undertake your own additional research in order to understand the key points, context, processes and/or data.
3. Summarise the main points and interpret the key issues, as well as
4. Develop a 10 minute oral presentation based on your findings, that meets the following format:
1. Introduction & summary
2. Critique
3. Conclusion.
5. Create accompanying Powerpoint slides of main points, that supports and enhances your presentation (minimum 10 maximum 15 slides)
6. Submit via individual video recordings during Session 5/6. Ensure all team members speak/contribute as part of the presentation.

• Information and article interpretation (e.g.: demonstrated understanding of your chosen article, ability to analyse and interpret article, incorporated expected sections and content)
• Delivery – oral and visual presentation (e.g. confidence and engagement in delivery and appropriateness of tone and visual media)
• Organisation of work amongst team (e.g. demonstrating teamwork, division of labour and a cohesive presentation suggestive of members working collaboratively)
