Research Proposal Assessment Task

The topic for the Research Proposal is based on the discussion between the students with their respective tutors. The tutor will play a key role as a supervisor.

The assessment for the Research Proposal will be in the form of oral presentation (25 marks) and written report (75 marks). The written report will be in the form of detailed power point presentation slides. Each group of students will be allocated to perform the oral presentation in Week 5 and Week 6 during the tutorial class. Tutor will award the oral presentation mark for individual presenters only during the oral presentation performed by the students. Students are required to submit the detailed power point presentation slides to the respective tutors during the oral presentation. Each group of students is given 25 minutes to present their Research Proposal and 5 minutes for the Q&A section.

After the oral presentation, the respective tutors will mark the detailed power point presentation slides and revert the power point presentation slides with comments to the students as the inputs to prepare their second assignment (please refer to the details of second assignment as below – Coursework 2).

For the group written report (ie., power point presentation slides), the research proposal cover page, table of contents, coursework feedback form,  marking scheme and plagiarism disclamation form need to be incorporated in the hard-printed copy of the assignment. In addition, students need to submit a copy of CD that encompassing the softcopy of the power point presentation slides.

Each group of students is required to conduct questionnaire survey in the field for the purpose of answering the proposed hypotheses that developed in the Research Proposal (as indicated in the Coursework 1). After conducting the field research, students are required to prepare a written research project. The written research project must be submitted during the lecturing hours (Week 11). This written research project will be allocated with 100 marks. The average word limit for the Research Project is between 3,000 to 5,000 words. For the Research Project (ie., Coursework 2), the research project cover page, table of contents, coursework feedback form, Turnitin report (main page only), marking scheme and plagiarism disclamation form need to be incorporated in the hard-printed copy of the assignment. In addition, students need to submit a copy of CD that encompassing the softcopy of the group research project.
