The following is the basis for your presentation. This presentation constitutes 20% of your overall grade for the Unit.
• Lecturer will assign you to a group
• Lecturer will assign you industry
• You are to use three of the countries you used in your individual assignment and compare the three countries – for example if one of you did Spain and the other did Argentina and Brazil you must compare these three countries and decide which one is the more attractive country to start your business.
• You are to work in a group that has been assigned to you.
• You will be penalized if you do not stick to the country or industry assigned to you, without permission from the lecturer.
• One member of the group is to submit your presentation and a script of your presentation after our Session 6.1 by 11.59 pm. This is to be submitted via Turnitin.
• You will present your findings to your class colleagues in an in-class presentation during Session 6.2. This will be 15 minutes with 3 minutes question and answer.
• You will be required to attend and submit a review of the presentations of other groups.
ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
After conducting a country analysis you have been approached by an industry leader to help them develop an entry plan and strategy to enter into a market that you have analyzed in your previous report.
You will be assigned an industry and you are to conduct your own research to identify a company within that industry that you will base your presentation around. You are to confirm with your lecturer which company you have selected. No two groups are to do the same company. Communicate with your lecturer as soon as possible in order to be able to continue on your presentation.
The presentation should be as if you presenting to a board of directors of the selected business.
Relevant issues to discuss include the following:
1. Identify a company with products or services that you would like to market in this country. Identify the specific rationale that makes your idea a viable business opportunity (use the VRIO framework). You may want to consider even outsourcing some of the processes to a foreign country.
2. Identify the distinctive features of doing business in two targetcountries specifically for your selected company (e.g., demographics, economic conditions, competition, political/legal forces, cultural forces, etc.) and conduct a Risk Assessment that describes the various risk factors associated with doing business in that country (e.g., political risk, currency risk, economic risk, property rights risk, etc.).
3. Develop a Target Country Entry Strategy to enter the country of choice (e.g., exporting, piggybacking, counter trade, foreign production, etc.) considering the risks identified.
4. Develop a brief Target Country Entry Plan (what will you do in the first 2 years of operation?) that considers the risks and opportunities previously identified.
Presentation Details
• All presentations will be held during Session/Week 6.2. Groups will be assigned random time schedules throughout the 2.5 hour session.
• Presentation length: No more than 15 minutes plus 3 minutes to set up in-class presentation. Ten (10) slides maximum.

Generally marks are based on average group performance, however, if it is clear that a student has not contributed fairly to the group result (e.g. during the presentation), the lecturer reserves the right to mark a student based on individual performance.
Research
The research should be based on real and current data relating to the chosen industry gained from a variety of sources. The analysis must show a clear understanding of the import/export market and planning to enter a country.It must be supported with relevant references from the literature.

• Research using the prescribed textbook academic journals and government websites. (refer to ProQuest /Ebsco/ ebrary that are accessible via Moodle)
• Construct an in-depth and analytical discussion based on a correct understanding of the global environment
• Use evidence and factual data from government and industry sources to support your work.
• Write in a clear and logical manner.
• Use in-text citations and referencing using the Harvard referencing system
